Ally denies hand in plaint against Asturias town exec

-

ASTURIAS Vice Mayor Joel Dumdum denied that he was involved in the graft case filed by Mark Paulus Noel against Mayor Allan Adlawan before the Office of the Ombudsman.

Noel accused Adlawan and Municipal Engineer Alberto Indolos of committing malversation and perjury in relation to the construction of the town's track and field oval and other sports facilities worth P1.67 million.

Noel said the project was not completed even though funds have been released.

Adlawan said Dumdum was behind the filing of the complaint because the vice mayor wants to sit as mayor if he is suspended because of the case.

Letter

In a letter sent to Sun. Star Cebu, Dumdum said he has nothing to do with the case.

“I am not privy to complainant Noel's agenda. I can only surmise that his recent action is political vengeance against Mayor Adlawan. I know both as mortal political enemies in our town,” Dumdum said.

Noel ran and lost as municipal councilor in the year 2010 and in the re- cent elections. He was an ally of the mayor.

Dumdum said he does not want to be involved in the case and prefers to attend to his duties as vice mayor.

Dumdum and Adlawan is under One Cebu party. According to the Commission on Election website, both officials ran unopposed in the recent 2013 elections.
