A retro dining experience
Whether a person is in the mood to reminisce the good old days of Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Abba and The Beatles or to jam and dance to this generation’s sounds, there’s one place that should always be kept in mind: the thousand-feet high, upscale resto bar Level Ei8ht.
According to its public relations and entertainment manager, Tico Aldanese, Level Ei8ht wants to redefine evening entertainment in Cebu by having a wide music selection for its nightly entertainment, offering an internationally versatile menu and by keeping its interiors and service at par with superior standards— complete with formal cutlery and Dedon furniture.
Level Ei8ht recently wrapped up its renovation, which included revamping its kitchens, extending the covered dining area, and placing tempered-glass ceilings and LCD screens at the veranda. It will also be introducing its new food fare next month in time for its fourth anniversary celebration on July 12. The resto bar’s current specialties include the gam
bas al ajillo, osso bucco, cider brine pork chops, home made chorizo, crispy pata and chicharon bulaklak. Its prized sinful dessert, the white chocolate cheesecake with orange sauce, is also a must-try.
Gigi Zamores, Level Ei8ht’s food and beverage manager, said the resto bar accepts private functions (the floor can accommodate 150 persons) and can prepare special family-style servings for big groups.
On the drinks side, the bar offers both local and imported bottled beverages, cocktails and mocktails (nonalcholic). One of its own concoctions is the called the Dancing Queen, named after the famous Abba song and the ballroom dancing ladies who frequent visitors of the resto bar.
In its quest of remaining “the ultimate in wine, dine and dance,” Level Ei8ht stages different live events each night, with in-house dance instructors who diners can freely approach to jive with, said Tico.
On Mondays and Thursdays, it’s ballroom night with Circle of 6 and DJ Allan; On Tuesday and Wednesdays, it’s retro dance night with Archie Marcial and bands Renaissance and Level Up. Then on Fridays and Saturdays, Archie Marcial, Level Up, Renaissance and Centerfold will be playing platinum dance hits from the 60s up to the present.
Feel those dancing feet tapping already? Level Ei8ht is on the 8/f of Adnama Building in the North Reclamation Area. It is open from 6 p.m. to 2 a.m. on Mondays through Saturdays.
