St. Augustine’s chapel in Inayawan gets parish support, resumes religious affairs

THE Inayawan St. Augustine de Hippo Chapel Associatio­n in Barangay Inayawan, Cebu City announced that the old chapel has been given the full support of the parish priest, Fr. Anthony “Nonie” Morillo, of Our Lady of Consolacio­n Parish.

Following the declaratio­n of support, Fr. Morillo said religious activities can now be held at the old San Augustine chapel.

The officers of the associatio­n headed by Dr. Libardo O. Macaraya, president, with the participat­ion of the dynamic youth coordinato­r En-En Jaca Calisang celebrated the annual Ulida ( Ulitao and Dalaga) in honor of Senior San Roque and Santa Cruz.

A nightly novena, headed by lay minister Carlito Daculan, was held from April 25 to May 25 that abide with the liturgical novena mandated by the parish church.

The celebratio­n ended with a mass and the traditiona­l Santa Cruzan.

The Flores de Mayo and catechism activities were also restored, with 187 children from various sitios as participan­ts.

The children, ages 5 to 16, enjoyed the religious classes held from Monday to Friday. Feeding was also held every after class.

A Santa Cruzan for the students was held last May 26, while the closing program of their class happened last May 31.
