Team Crimson wins Cebu Pacific's Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge
From Aug. 27 to Sept. 2, five teams were given P35,000 each to go on a seven-day, six destinations adventure around the country dubbed as Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge organized by Cebu Pacific and the Department of Tourism.
On its second year, Cebu Pacific Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge was back and promised to provide more daring adventures and even bigger prizes.
At the finish line, one team emerged as the ultimate winner. Team Crimson composed of Silliman University students Filipino Sesinando Quilao, Jr., Iranian Patrik Norouzi and South Korean So Myeong Lee.
They were the team with the most number fun activities experienced and spent the least amount of total expenses, based on these criteria: Fun Activities (50%) and Budget Friendliness (50%).
According to CEB vice president for marketing and distribution Candice Iyog, the challenge was geared to promote budget travel and tourism as well as to raise awareness of Cebu Pacific's network of destinations.
The winning team got 12 round-trip tickets to any short-haul interna- tional or domestic destination, plus a three-day, two-night Philippine tour package for three, courtesy of the Department of Tourism.
Each member of the team also received a Samsung Galaxy tablet, a Wenger watche, Sun Cellular pocket wifi and broadband wireless kits
The Juan for Fun Backpacker Challenge 2013 is also co-presented by Sun Broadband Wireless and the Department of Tourism, with the support of Canon, Botak, Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan, and Wenger, the Juan for Fun official travel gear.
