Mayor among 31 conquerors of 160K race

Froilan Roble rules 160-kilometer race in Tabuelan in 23 hours, 52 minutes

FROILAN Roy Roble of Team Laspag topped the grueling 160-kilometer Tabuelan to Tabuelan run yesterday, finishing the event in 23:52:30, almost two hours ahead of the second placer.

Fifty-two joined the event, including six women, and 31 finished within the 32-hour cut-off.

Peri R. Pevida of Team ADR got second place in 25:43:56, while Preciosa Russel Sanchez was the best female runner and finished third over all in 26:05:15.

Frans Van Dongen Jr (27:57) and Erlyd Don Ortiz (27:59:57) of Team ADR got the fourth and fifth places overall.

Reiner Solamo got sixth place in 28:18:13, 17 minutes and 56 seconds ahead of Boots Tanghal of Team LCPO Davao. Alexander Fonollera, who is also from Davao, got eighth place in 28:45:47, while Marlo Yap finished ninth in 28:58:58. Francis Paraceulle­s, of the Cebu Ultrarunne­rs Club finished at 10th place.

Grace Diocampo finished 12th overall but was second among the women in 30:00:49, while Hedda Riola got third place in the women’s division in 30:51:30 and was 17th overall.

Others who made the top 20 were Joerick Bontigao (29:48:16), Jonathan Dungog (30:00:52), Rex Gerona (30:07:43), Leony Andre Palco (30:15:52), Leo Maranon (30:28:27), Carl Chariven Paguyo (30:53:04), Rod Lanorias Sr. (31:00:39) and Melanio Cataraja (31:05:39).

Others who made the cutoff were Glenna Trajano (31:12:50), Mark Modesto (31:15:57), Jude Seares (31:15:59), Villy Ponferrada (31:24:17), Kenneth Bayron (31:25:02), Michael Ian Suico Santos (31:27:11), Starkey Apilado (31:40:05), Francis Brent Costillas (31:47:12), Garry Vhoy Gabrillo (31:52:02) and Noel Batac (31:52:05).
