SRFC bags 2 titles in San Roque Football Cup

HOST team San Roque FC (SRFC)bagged two titles in the 10th San Roque Football Cup yesterday at the San Roque football grounds.

SRFC won it all in the Boys Under-19 and the Ladies Open divisions.

SRFC-B beat Broskie FC, 1-0, in the Boys Under-19 championship match, while SRFC-B defeated Chicos United, 3-1, in a penalty shootout.

SRFC had a chance to win thier third title of the day but unluckily their Under-14 squad bowed down to Ateneo, 2-1.

KNF-42 took the 42-andabove diadem with a 1-0 win over Hiroshi FC.

Engr. Nilo Ferraren squeaked past the Hiroshi FC defense and struck from point blank range in the first half to score the match’s only goal.

It was an all-Leylam FC affair in the Men’s Inter Company division with Leylam FC-B beating Leylam FC-A, 2-0.

Second seed Author’s Solution beat top-ranked Innodata FC, 2-1, in penalty shootout for the Inter BPO crown.

The tournament’s trophies and medals were donated by Honda Motor World. The an- nual football festival is also sponsored by Dakay Construction and Development Corporation, Pepsi, Leylam Shawarma, Dunkin Donuts, Jayson Marbella, Mediplast, Babyflo and the San Roque Parish.

Action will resume this weekend with the remaining divisions – Boys Under-14, Boys Under-17, Girls Under-17, Men’s Open and 38-and-Above.
