USC students bring home national quiz bee grand prize
USC Business Administration students joined the 2014 Council of Management Educators and Practitioners of the Philippines (COMEPP) National Quiz Bee held at the Baguio Country Club in Baguio City last July 24.
The team was composed of fourth year students Janine Mae A. Aliño, Lars Raphael J. Lammerskotter, Vanessa Rhea B. Penecitos, Kenyashi G. Uang, Vincent Bernard V. Yu Vega and their professors Cergen D. Go and Angelo O. Burdeos.
Three other schools who already won in their respective regions participated as well. Far Eastern University, Capiz State University and Central Mindanao University joined the quiz bee representing the National Capital Region, Western Visayas and Northern Mindanao, respectively. USC represented the Central Visayas region.
The quiz bee consisted of the easy, moderate and difficult rounds. USC’s team led in every round and garnered a total of 170 points. It was closely followed by FEU’s team, which garnered 150 points.
The team of Capiz State University placed third with a total score of 105 points. They were followed by the Central Mindanao University, ranking fourth with 100 points.
The organizers of the quiz bee drew questions from the following disciplines in Business Administration: financial management, marketing management, operations management, human resource management and organizational behavior.
COMEPP has approximately 200 colleges and universities as member institutions nationwide.
This year, COMEPP celebrated its 24th National Convention at the Baguio Country Club with the theme “A New Vision for Management Education: A Response to the ASEAN 2015 Integration.”
