Aboitiz Foundation, Veco, Agapp join hands in building new facility for kindergarten kids

AN elementary school in Minglanilla, Cebu received a new building from Visayan Electric Co. (Veco), Aboitiz Foundation and Aklat, Gabay, Aruga Tungo sa Pag-angat at Pag-asa (Agapp).
The donors gave the building to Vito Elementary School under the “Silid Pangarap” program.
The turnover ceremony was attended by Agapp chairperson Pinky Aquino-Abellada, Minglanilla Mayor Elanito Peña, Veco chief operating officer Sebastian Lacson, government officials, and the school faculty.
The classroom is for the school’s kindergarten students and already has books inside when this was turned over to the school.
Receiving the symbolic key was Luzviminda Bariquet, principal of Vito Elementary School.
Aboitiz Foundation said they have donated 42 classrooms to different schools this year nationwide.
The budget for every classroom is P1.1 million to P1.2 million.
The donation is the last classroom for Cebu. The foundation said they are going to Bohol next week, the last leg for the Visayas. They have already donated to different schools in Luzon.
A total of 174 classrooms have been donated by Aboitiz Foundation through its partnership with Agapp in the past four years.
Last building
Lacson said it will probably be the last building they’ll donate for this year.
The construction of the classroom started six months ago.
Veco has rewired 845 classrooms to prevent fire.
Agapp, a foundation established by Aquino-Abellada, promotes early childhood care and literacy development for children.
