Recovery, resiliency key themes in October building trade event
WORLDBEX Services International (WSI), an events and expositions organizer, will present PHILBEX Cebu 2014, happening alongside CEFBEX and the Cebu Auto Show, on Oct. 9 to 12, 2014 in the SM City Cebu Trade Hall.
“Worldbex is always on the lookout to discover various opportunities to strengthen and expand the trade sector of the country. This season, WSI sets its sights on Cebu, as it displays an impressive growth in multiple sectors, most especially, its construction and building industry,” the company said in a press statement.
The 11th PHILBEX Cebu will train its spotlight on the region’s worldclass products and services that are resilient and at the same time “embedded with cultural identity, teeming with creativity, and fueled by innovation,” the statement said.
The show will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Organizers have decided to move to a bigger venue and will convert the trade hall’s grounds into fully air-conditioned tents. It will house 90 companies and 150 booths in 2,000 square meters of exhibition space, offering a complete array of materials, equipment and services for the building and construction trade.
“Visitors can expect an abundant product profile including building materials, interior design and renovation, security and fire equipment, mechanical and electrical engineering, information technology and telecommunications, architectural services, government/private institutions, associations, interior designer’s services, construction promotion, and more,” the press statement added.
These will be made possible with the support of the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers Cebu Chapter.
“As the region continues to recover, coupled with the anticipation for the Asean integration, heightened demand for construction and building has increased exponentially along with a clamor for real estate and property development as the region attracts industries like business process outsourcing, retail and tourism,” the organizers said.
Both long-time partners of WSI, United Steel Technology and Apo Roofs and Apo Floors will be first-time exhibitors of PHILBEX Cebu.
Gonzalo Puyat and Sons Group of Companies are also first-time exhibitors at PHILBEX Cebu.
The organizers expect to attract double the number of last year’s 40,000 visitors. (PR)
