Former Capitol-employee killed over motorcycle spat
Victim flagged the suspect when the latter passed by his house and confronted him about noisy bike
A FORMER employee of the Provincial Government was killed following an altercation over a noisy motorcycle.
The victim identified as Noel Isidro “Bogart” Teo was shot several times in the head and body in Barangay Poblacion, Argao last Wednesday night.
Senior Insp. Alejandro Batobalonos, the town’s police chief, said his men recovered five empty shells and a slug from the crime scene.
Police arrested 21-year-old Wilfredo Dayaganon in a follow-up op- eration in Barangay Obaob yesterday afternoon.
Confession
Witnesses identified Dayaganon as the gunman.
The suspect later admitted to police that he shot Teo.
“Nabuhat nako tungod ra sab niya. Syempre kay wa ko’y sala unya iya kong gidapatan. Natandog akong garbo kay wa koy gihimong dautan unya daugdaugon lang ta (He drove me to kill him. I didn’t do anything wrong yet he hit me. That really touched my pride because I felt I was maltreated),” Dayagonon said in a radio dyLA interview.
Before the incident happened at 7:30 p.m., Dayaganon was driving his motorcycle, which was noisy.
Dead on arrival
Teo reportedly called Dayaganon’s attention when the latter passed by his house.
A heated argument ensued between the two, which ended up with Teo punching Dayaganon.
“The suspect shouted he would return for the victim,” said Batobalonos.
Dayagonon did come back and shot the victim several times. Teo was still able to run, but he fell outside the gate of his house.
The victim was rushed to the Isidro Kintanar Memorial Hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.
Batobalonos said they will charge the suspect with murder before the Office of the Cebu Provincial Prosecutor today.
