School transport service

-

( The letter is addressed to Arnel C. Tancinco, Regional Director, LTO 7)

I am writing to you with regard to colorum vans operating at Campbell Academy Foundation Inc. (Cafi) located at Lower Calajoan, Minglanilla, Cebu.

We, Cajuelan Transport Services, owned and operated by the undersigned, is the authorized school transport service provider for Campbell Academy.

Late last year, a resident of Minglanilla Homes, Tungkil, came to Campbell Academy with his van and started picking up and dropping off kids to and from school which he started calling as his own carpool operation. Furthermore, he is using his van as carpool for other schools in Minglanilla.

This is a clear vilation of our LTFRB franchising law. More so, he is charging his clients much less than what we charge because he is not paying anything to LTO and LTFRB for his vans are registered as private vehicles. As a consequence, several students originally availing of our services had moved to his colorum operation.

On this regard, I would like to request your office to please stop this practice as you are the only agency who can put an end to this illegal and unauthorized operation.

If he wants to be an authorized carpool operator, he should comply with all the requirements set by LTO and LTFRB just like we did. The law should be enforced.

Late December 2014, I have personally talked to Joel Maloluy-on about this matter (I was made to fill complaint forms) but until now nothing has been done.-- Oscar Cajuelan Jr. of Minglanilla, Cebu
