Valentine's Day quick wardrobe tips

- MRL

In less than 24 hours, the day of hearts will commence. If all the arrangements have been made, one thing that’s left to think about is what to wear. Here are some tips to help you get ready for the affair.

Be fashionably comfortable.

You never know what surprises are in store, so wear something that’s a cross between fashionable and functional. If wearing a dress isn’t your style, look to a pair of skinny jeans, leather pants and match it with a flattering and special top fit for the occasion. As for footwear, you can’t go wrong with doll shoes or sandals fashioned with cute little details. If you prefer heels, choose the ones that are comfortable. No one likes to end the night with blisters on her feet.

Add a touch of lace. Any item of clothing that has a touch of lace can certainly add a certain charm to the whole ensemble. For a night out, pick something that has that

delicate fabric be it a skirt, blouse, or even shoes. It will turn everyday outfits into elegant ones without being too over the top.

Don’t stick to one color. Just because it’s Valentine’s Day does not mean wearing the color red is a must even with accessories. It’s not iron clad, plus color coding isn’t trending. Wear whatever strikes the mood as long as it accentuates your best features. Look for other romantic and subdued color palettes if striking ones don’t seem appealing. Or when in doubt, always go for that classic LBD (little black dress).

Stay stylishly warm. Bulky jackets can be such a hassle, especially since they won’t fit in the bag. The weather has been very temperamental lately, so pack a scarf—it’s light, can easily be stored and adds a nice classic touch to the outfit especially when the temperature drops.
