Evangelista marries Escudero
MANILA–After all the controversies they’ve been through, actress Heart Evangelista and Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero finally tied the knot on Sunday at the Balesin Island Club in Quezon.
Evangelista was a sight to behold in her Ezra Santos classic off-white wedding gown, which featured lace sleeves, while Escudero looked dapper in his white tuxedo designed by Paul Cabral.
In a prior interview, Heart said she made sure that her wedding dress is a classic piece.
“One thing that I made sure of is if you look at the photos 10 years from now, hindi siya dated. Dream wedding gown ko talaga
siya,” she said. Heart’s gown mirrored the dress worn by the late Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco in her 1956 wedding to Prince Rainier III.
Ezra, a Dubai-based Filipino designer, posted several snaps of Evangelista on image-sharing application Instagram and described the bride as both “gorgeous” and “beautiful.”
Heart’s parents, Rey and Cecile Ongpauco, skipped the wedding, although her sisters, Lisa Quirino and Mich Ongpauco, attended. Big names in showbiz, politics and business also took part in the occasion such as Sen. Grace Poe, Hans Sy, Lance Gokongwei, Fernando Zobel and Ramon Ang.
After the island wedding, Escudero and Evangelista will host a reception in Manila on Feb.18 for their other friends in showbiz and politics.
