Fly high at J Yoga Cebu

-

There is a new kind of workout that is gaining popularity in Cebu.

Flying yoga, also called aerial yoga and anti-gravity yoga, which is very popular abroad has now made its way in Cebu.

J Yoga Cebu, located at One Paseo, Maria Luisa Road, Banilad, is the first studio in Cebu to offer flying yoga classes.

Flying yoga combines traditional yoga and aerial acrobatics with the use of a specialized hammock. The hammock made of silk fabric is installed by professionals into the ceiling. This ensures that it is safe and can sustain weight up to 1,000 pounds. The instructors who teach the flying yoga classes are all certified aerial yoga and antigravity yoga teachers. There’s Gabby, a Filipina; Joung Kim, a Korean and Angela, a Canadian.

According to Angela, flying yoga is good for everyone of any age and at any level. It allows everyone to experience inversion; it is a great stress relieving activity; it relieves lower back pains; it complements traditional yoga and it increases strength and flexibility.

J Yoga Cebu also holds traditional mat yoga classes like Hatha Yoga, Vinyasa Yoga and Power Yoga. Other interesting classes they offer are Core Beauty Yoga and Kids Yoga. Rates start at P99. It also offers private classes and discounts for students.

J Yoga Cebu will also be offering a teacher’s training on flying yoga to have more yoga teachers certified to teach it. It will be held on Feb. 21-22 and Feb. 28 to March 1. Once you complete the training you will become International Yoga Federation certified and Korean Yoga Federation certified.
