Catampatan barged in and stabbed Tan with a knife.

Tan died on the spot, while Catampatan fled.

Neighbors alerted the police. Responding officers found Catampatan sleeping in his home.

Alarde said Catampatan was drunk during the arrest. The suspect did not resist arrest.

The suspect admitted during interrogation that he committed the crime.

“Selos ni siya. Nag-ilog sila silingan nga uyab sa duha (The suspect was jealous. They were fighting over a neighbor who was their girlfriend),” Alarde said in a phone interview.
