4 dead, 2 hurt in Tuburan mishap
FOUR persons died while two others were injured after the motorcycles they were riding crashed into a mango tree in Barangay Fortaliza, Tuburan, northwest Cebu last Wednesday night.
Before the incident at past 11 p.m., investigation showed the tree was already blocking the road after it fell due to heavy rains.
The victims did not see the tree, said PO1 Alfitche Mangaron.
They were possibly drunk before the incident happened, added Mangaron.
The fatalities-residents of Old Bago, Asturias-were identified as Clark Anthony Enguilo, 18; Rallyboy Dacaldacal, 18; Jusver Nabulat-ag, 27; and Elizar Dacaldacal Jr., 18.
Elizar was the son of the village chief of Old Bago.
They suffered severe injuries in different parts of their bodies. They died on the spot.
Encounter
Mangaron said the victims were on board a motorcycle, but it was not clear who was the driver.
Their companionsm Isagani Moncada Sasis and Rex Martel Moncada Sasis, were on a separate motorcycle. They landed in a hospital after they suffered injuries.
Investigation showed the victims came from a spring in Barangay Molobolo, Tuburan.
They were traveling back home when they met the accident in the area, which became dark after the street light was hit by the branches of the mango tree.
Mangaron said the two motorcycles were traveling fast and were possibly racing against each other.
