POLICE arrested three persons and seized more than P100,000 worth of illegal drugs in separate operations in the towns of Liloan and Asturias.

Last Tuesday afternoon, the team led by Senior Insp. Ramil Morpos led the arrest of Manuel Mendoza Bughao, 34, and April Rose Monterola, 19, in Purok Tugas, Barangay Poblacion, Liloan.

Bughao and Monterola are live-in partners, said Morpos, the town police chief.

They seized 15 packs of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu in different sizes from the suspects.

The suspected drugs weighed seven grams, with an estimated street value ranging from P80,000 to P100,000.

Aside from the illegal drugs, the police also confiscated drug paraphernalia like aluminum foils, plastic containers and lighters from the suspects.

Before the arrest happened past 2 p.m., Morpos said they were tipped off by their informant about suspected junkies having a pot session in Purok Tugas.

After the police verified that the pot session took place in a shanty near the dried fish section of the town’s public market, they barged inside the structure and arrested the suspects.

At past 9 a.m. yesterday, Jefloyd Sarsoso was caught allegedly carrying 18 packs of suspected shabu in Barangay Poblacion, Asturias.

Senior Insp. Narciso Abapo, the town police chief, said the packs of suspected shabu weighed 1.44 grams and are worth more than P16,000.

The suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
