Bruising fight over Cebu City intensifies: ‘pirating’ on

DID YOU NOTICE...

-

...THE INTENSITY IN THE FIGHT OVER CEBU CITY

between rival camps Team Rama Etc. and BOPK?

-- At Cebu City Council, Team Rama Etc. is supplementing its smaller force against BOPK’s by using protesters outside the session hall. BOPK won in the vote because of dominance in number, killing the mayor’s supplemental budget, but it lost in the propaganda war. To the public, BOPK is depicted as desperate to block spending programs of the administration.

-- Active “pirating” attempts on Team Rama, Etc. leaders by BOPK show desperation or plain ruthlessness. Whatever, it’s clear that this could be the last election campaign of Tomas Osme¤a should BOPK lose. Political watchers see a winner-take-all this time: not the split in control (Team Rama Etc. in the mayor’s office and BOPK in the City Council or vice versa) which has impeded the city’s governance.

... THE BINAY CAMP IS STILL FIDGETY OVER THE ITS VP CHOICE,

not being sure if Gringo Honasan would accept the draft as running mate of Jojo Binay.

The talk is that Gringo hates corruption and to share bed with Binay who still had to explain charges of corruption and unexplained wealth would seem unthinkable -- unless he has tremendously changed since the RAM boys rose against Bongbong Marcos’s dad and martial rule in 1986.

It would surely look bad and pathetic if after many other would-be VPs had rejected a tandem with Binay, Honasan would also say “no.”

“Bi-Hon” the noodle or “Bin-Go” the biscuit not palatable emough?
