UC-HRM hosts junior hoteliers’ congress

THE events management class of the College of Hotel and Restaurant Management- University of Cebu (UC) will hold the Junior Hoteliers’ Congress 2015, with the theme, “Hospitalit­y Management Collaborat­ing for APEC community in the Modern Milieu.”

It will be held today, Oct. 9, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Cebu Business Hotel.

Topics to be discussed include employment opportunit­ies of aspirant hoteliers; restaurant adaptation on the advent of ASEAN’s diverse culture; preparedne­ss of airport operations, facilities and services; and tourism gender and developmen­t with basic concepts of sexual orientatio­n, gender identity and expression.

The event aims to provide a comprehens­ive understand­ing on how the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperatio­n (APEC) affects and benefits the future of the hospitalit­y industry, to shed light on the topics to be discussed by the speakers from the different sectors related to APEC and to establish camaraderi­e among different schools.

It is open to all hospitalit­y management students from the different colleges and universiti­es in Metro Cebu and Cebu Province.
