October is many things to many people. It inches us closer to the Yuletide holidays. Nearer is the growingly celebrated Halloween eve. Likewise, it is a celebration of living, or specifically, courageously beating the odds of a battle with the big C. While October was already established as the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month as early as in 1985, it was only in 1993 when Evelyn Lauder (then Senior Vice President of the Estee Lauder Companies) made the pink ribbon its symbol. The rest, as they say, has been a flurry of charity history. This month has been responsible for streaming the awareness of the disease into the consciousness of the public and is credited greatly for raising funds for its research. As a consumer, there are a thousand and one ways to support this cause. One of many is simply to go out in pink.
Pick Pink Flowers
One of the easiest ways to find pink is to pick a few floral pieces. Season after season, there is no escaping them when you comb through boutique offerings. They will come in the sweetest delicate designs and are what you will need in pulling off a very girly look. It is not every girl’s cup of tea, sure. But if you are feeling flowers, tuck your tummy in and milk the last of the cropped top season and squeeze yourself into form fitting cigarette pants.
Fit in Pink
Bright and easy on the eye, it is little wonder that the color pink is the choice of many in their fitness garb. If you have been forming the habit of making a run in the streets, would you not want to be on the safe side? Go with pink and you’ll be easy to spot by motorists while you are making your way in the city circuit. But over and above its practicality in urban exercise, you can easily incorporate pink pieces into the increasingly popular “athleisure” (the wise amalgamation of athletic and leisure style) trend. Integrating a largely feminine associated color such as pink will help soften an otherwise tough look on
you.
