Leaves: Alternate; elliptic or oblong; 10-16 cm long and 4-6 cm wide; base acute, apex acuminate, about 2 cm long, often apiculate; borne on petioles 4-7 mm long; margin entire or slightly wavy; upper surface dull green, glaucous underneath Flower: Axillary; calyx with 5 lobes

Wood: Used for joists, rafters, agricultur­al implements, and tool handles; commonly used for house posts in Luzon and in the Visayas
