What is today?
Last week, when I looked at the different special days to remember for November, I was amused by what today is, Nov. 15. Today is Clean Your Refrigerator Day! This is something each of us should be reminded to do, whether it is your responsibility or not.
Cleaning your refrigerator is a task for your elders or your house helpers. But you have a role to play, too. Think about this, Kidsters.
How many times a day do you open your refrigerator? You open it to get cold water. You also open it to get your chocolates or fruits. Now how do you do it? Do you just get it and leave the rest of the items inside haphazardly? Or do you carefully take out what you need and return what you don't need in an orderly manner?
In fact, this is something you should do even with your closets. When you get something, like socks or T-shirts, do you just pick it out even if other socks or shirts tumble out?
I really like what today is. Do you know how important it is to keep our refrigerators clean and tidy? This is where we keep our food and even before we open it to get something, we should make sure our hands are clean.
Kidsters, reminders are there to show us that there are some things that we should not take for granted. Why do you think this day was called "Clean Your Refrigerators Day"? There must be a reason for this and those who thought of this must have wanted to remind us that we should keep the surroundings where we store our food clean and clear, meaning, clear enough to identify what are inside to keep and to throw away.
So after reading this, go to your refrigerators and start the practice of keeping this important storage clean and nicesmelling.
Enjoy eating!
