SM joins IEC fete

Cebuanos and visiting guests of the Internatio­nal Eucharisti­c Congress (IEC) will see daily performanc­es from the different choral and cultural groups in a week of nightly songs and dances.

SM City Cebu and SM Seaside City Cebu are rolling out their red carpet for the local and internatio­nal delegates of the 51st IEC, which started yesterday and will end on Jan. 31.

Christ the King College Youth Symphony of Calbayog City in Samar had a special performanc­e last Jan. 22, in honor of the IEC.

Last night, one of Cebu’s best choirs, the Cebu Normal University Chorale, performed at the Mountain Wing Atrium of SM Seaside City Cebu.

Tonight at 7 p.m., “Sacraments of Life” will be per- formed at the Northwing Atrium in SM City Cebu.

Tomorrow, “Memoirs of Faith” will take the stage, while “Southern Faith and Devotion” will be performed on Wednesday. Both performanc­es will be at 7 p.m. at the Northwing.

Then in the same venue and at the same time, the IEC Choral Concert will be held on Jan. 28 and 29. The “Fabric of Faith” performanc­e will also be on Thursday.

On Saturday, the Voices of the South, a concert with Cebuano classical singers and the Visayan Symphony will perform at the Northwing.

Meanwhile, Philippine Airlines( PAL) passengers will get a 10 percent discount on all regular-priced items from participat­ing ten- ants of SM Seaside City Cebu, SM City Cebu and SM City Consolacio­n until Feb. 29.

One may simply show the Cebu-bound PAL boarding pass and automatica­lly get discounts upon visiting Cebu SM Supermalls.

Boarding pass is valid within seven days from one’s arrival in Cebu with a minimum purchase requiremen­t of P2,000 single receipt.

Customers must present their boarding pass together with their identifica­tion card upon purchase.

Among the participat­ing stores are Kultura, Ace Hardware, Surplus Shop, Watsons and SM Appliance Center. Fashion stores are also participat­ing such as Forever 21, Hedgren, Uniqlo, Arrow, Espada and Sfera.
