MORE than P100,000 worth of illegal drugs and a firearm were consficated from four persons arrested in separate buy-bust operations in the cities of Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu.

At 1:40 a.m. yesterday, members of Lapu-Lapu Police Station 2 caught two siblings and their colleague for allegedly selling illegal drugs in Barangay Mactan, Lapu-Lapu City.

Siblings Joy and Junrey Pepito and Alcher Samson were arrested in a shanty in Sitio Ibabao Mactan Shrine.

Chief Insp. Conrado Manatad, Police Station 2 chief, said the target of the operation were Joy and Samson.

Manatad said Junrey had been helping Joy in selling illegal drugs.

During the operation, police confiscated a .38 Smith and Wesson revolver, 19 sachets and two medium packs of suspected shabu, and drug paraphernalia. The drugs confiscated weighed 6.82 grams, with an estimated market value of P80,476.

The arrested suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and RA 10591 or the Comprehensive Firearms and Regulation Act.

In Mandaue, police arrested Anthony “Tony” Agosto in Sitio Star Apple, Barangay Umapad.

Through a police decoy, Agosto was caught by the City Anti-Illegal Drug Special Operation Task Group led by Senior Insp. Janelito Marquez past 9:40 p.m. last Tuesday.

Police recovered the P200 buy-bust money, a sachet and a medium pack of shabu from the suspect. The drugs weighing 5.76 grams was worth P67,850.

Meanwhile, a 15-yearold boy was stabbed to death by his 21-year-old friend in their rented house in Barangay Sangat, San Fernando last Wednesday dawn.

Investigator PO2 Jose Claire Palagtiosa identified the fatality as Reyn Kyle Suson, who succumbed to a stab wound in the neck.

The suspect Bertcille Matas, a fraternity member, surrendered to the police later at night. He was accompanied by his friends.

Palagtiosa, in a phone interview, said Suson woke Matas up before the incident happened around 2 a.m.

Matas got mad when the victim berated him and moved his head. The suspect got a knife and stabbed his friend to death.

The weapon was not recovered by the responding officers led by SPO1 Rolando Bastida, whose team rushed Suson to Carcar City District Hospital where the victim was declared dead on arrival.

Police are suspecting that the group may be hooked to illegal drugs after several drug sniffing paraphernalia were found in the house.
