Doses of sparkle and shine

A two-day jewelry pop-up sale took place at Holicow PH at lifestyle arcade Crossroads, Banilad, Cebu City last May 12-13, featuring the jewelry line All That Glitters by designer Amanda Luym together with partner Cacay Moras-Server. The first day was an exclusive popup sale while the second day was open to the public.

With the whole concept being about travel jewelry that can transform with the wearer, the line carries roughly more than 20 one-ofa-kind collections using sterling silver settings and then vermeil in 24 karat gold or rhodium, with precious and semi-precious colored gemstones.

Each collection is named after heroines be it mythical, fictional, pop culture or even from the pages of comic books. Amanda shared that if one were to look at each piece, one can see that they all have very different personalities. “Every design is kind of like a journey,” she said.

To her, the process begins with a female heroine. Some of the names of the collections include Artemis, goddess of the hunt and the moon; Athena, goddess of wisdom and war; Princess Leia of Star Wars; Mayari, a lunar deity; and Lara Croft of the video game Tomb Raider. Sometimes she revisits a theme but never makes the same thing.

From rings than can be stacked to another one or more, detachable earrings that can be mixed and matched and necklaces one can layer with another piece as well as bracelets, there are so many ways to wear them and play with them— which is greatly encouraged.

“I keep it versatile. I do encourage my clients to have as much fun with my jewelry as they can,” Amanda said. “I just genuinely enjoy the creative process and design. It feels complete when it’s worn and it’s enjoyed.”
