Philconstruct 2016: Biggest show opens

Philconstruct Visayas, the 7th Visayas International Construction Equipment, Building Materials, Interior & Exterior Products Exhibition and Technology Forum, is happening at the Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino until Saturday.

The show is organized by Philconstruct Events, Exhibitions and Conferences Corp., the Cebu Contractors Association Inc. (CCA), the Philippine Constructors Association and the Philippine Society of Ventilating, AirConditioning and Refrigerating Engineers (PSVARE).

“Through Philconstruct Visayas, the biggest variety of new construction equipment, building materials, interior and exterior products as well as heavy machineries are brought here in the region. This show seeks to continue its role in bringing new technologies, creating partnerships and boosting commercial trade not only in Cebu but the whole region,” said CCA president Peter Paul Dy Jr.

Engineer Bernard Vonn Sia, the event chairman, said: “For this year, we have extended the show space to accommodate more exhibitors. We are so much overwhelmed with the support from over 300 local and international companies who put their trust on Philconstruct.”

Acting Cebu City Mayor Margarita “Margot” Osmeña, graced the opening ceremony. She joined the organizers as well as the supporting industry presidents including Angela Paulin of the Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation Inc., architect Jensen Racho of the United Architects of the Philippines–Cebu Chapter, Alvin Abrea of the Philippine Institute of Interior Designers–Cebu Chapter, engineer Dino Selma III of the Association of Carriers and Equipment Lessors Inc. Cebu, Elena Jubac of PSVARE-Cebu and engineer Daisy Toledo of the Philip- pine Institute of Civil Engineers–Cebu.

The organizers are expecting over 10,000 trade buyers for this three-day soldout event. Visitors of the show can look forward to product showcases from top brands including event co-presentor Boysen Philippines, new partners and copresenters Conch Portland Cement and Thang Long Cement as well as new show sponsors Republic Cement, Chevron Philippines, Microdata and Panasonic.

Aside from the exhibit, there is the “Cebu Furniture Sale,” where the biggest promos and discounts will be given away by the best furniture and fixture makers in the region, and the “Technoforum Visayas,” where series of workshops and seminars will be presented. The show will also feature pavilions for interior designers and architects and more than 20 massive construction equipment and heavy machineries displayed around the hotel.
