Traffic enforcer recognized for helping a jeepney driver in last Friday’s rains

-

FOR braving the heavy rains and flood to help a jeepney driver last Friday, a traffic enforcer was recognized by the Mandaue City Government in a ceremony held yesterday.

Mayor Luigi Quisumbing led the recognition of Francisco Nobado Jr., a member of the Traffic Enforcement Agency of Mandaue (Team), who received P5,000 cash for a job well done.

A photo of Nobado posted by one Ian Pagobo on Facebook went viral last Friday after he was seen braving the flood to help a jeepney driver whose vehicle conked out near the Cebu International Convention Center in Barangay Guizo, Mandaue.

The photo gathered numerous praises from netizens.

During the ceremony, Quisumbing challenged Team to make Mandaue the “traffic discipline zone” to ensure an or- derly traffic system in the city.

The mayor asked the enforcers to also report anyone who would use his name or other City officials to avoid getting cited for traffic violations.

“If anyone commits a violation and uses my name and you report it, I will give you a reward. If you catch my car or any of my family committing a violation and issue a citation, I will give an even bigger reward,” said Quisumbing.

He assured the Team of his full support if they would just do their job right.

He also encouraged them to remain professional and well-mannered in doing their job.
