Performance evaluation before revamp

-

FOR now, no major revamp of personnel will be implemented in Talisay City Hall, Mayor Eduardo Gullas said.

This, despite his earlier announcement that he plans to convince five department heads to retire or resign due to alleged inefficiency and lack of trust.

Gullas told reporters that he will retain all of his department heads, including heads of law enforcement offices.

He said, though, that a panel composed of his staff is assessing the performance of regular personnel, including department heads.

The results of the assessment will be the basis for any revamp.

He assured that if a revamp will be implemented, it won’t be due to politics but to ensure the swift delivery of basic services at City Hall.

Gullas also announced that aside from lawyer Avencensio Piramide as his city admin- istrator, he also appointed Dr. Richel Bacaltos as the president of the Talisay City College.

He also appointed Hazel Sevilleno as the city’s new public information officer.

Gullas said he will also limit the hiring of job order workers.

He lamented that former mayor Talisay City Mayor Johnny De los Reyes hired 1,800 job order workers, which he said is excessive.

During his term, he will only hire 500 job order workers.

Unlike his predecessor, the mayor said he will provide job order workers to Vice Mayor Alan Bucao and members of the Talisay City Council.

During De los Reyes’ time as city mayor, the number of job order workers for the City Council was reduced after he claimed that they were allegedly preventing his programs and projects from being implemented.
