PRC nullifies results of mechanical engineering board exams in Jeddah
THE Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) has nullified the results of the September 2015 Special Professional Licensure Board Examination (SPLBE) on Mechanical Engineering, which was conducted in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA) on Sept. 24 and 25, 2015.
In a statement, the PRC came out with Resolution No. 992, se- ries of 2016 ordering the cancellation of the exam results.
“The Professional Regulatory Board of Mechanical Engineering and the Commission adopted the recommendation of the committee to cancel and nullify the results of the Sept. 24 and 25, 2015 mechanical engineering licensure examination for SPLBE 2015,” said the PRC.
The move comes after an initial validation of the test by the PRC consultant for test construction and statistics showed a high probability of human intervention during the conduct of examinations.
This was followed up by the fact-finding committee tasked to investigate the alleged irregularities in the conduct of the said board examination.
Back in September 2015, a total of 21 out of 149 examinees had passed the Mechanical Engineer Licensure Examination held by the PRC in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates; Al-Khobar, Jeddah, and Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Doha, Qatar; and in Kuwait.
