600 Carcaranons get medical aid from SM Foundation

OVER 600 residents from the different barangays of Carcar City, Cebu, benefited from the medical and dental mission of SM Foundation Inc. held at SM Savemore Carcar.

The Gamot Para Sa Kapwa in Carcar City was organized in partnership with SM Savemore, Cebu Medical Society, Philippine Red Cross Cebu Chapter, Carcar City Health Office and the Philippine Army.

The mission was aimed at helping indigent families by providing basic health services and positive insights in coping with difficulties in life.

Services included medical checkup and treatment, dental check-up, blood pressure checkup, ECG and X-ray.

Apart from the medical services, free medicines for common illnesses and vitamins were also distributed to patients.

Through SM Foundation, the SM Group of Companies has been helping the communities by supporting their needs in education through college and technicalvocational scholarship programs and donation of public school buildings; health through medical missions and construction of wellness and health centers; community development through various livelihood trainings, greening projects, spiritual development and immediate disaster response/ initiatives; and, care for the environment and for persons with special needs .
