SEDC donates lot for rural health service
SOLID Earth Development Corp. (SEDC) donated a 600-square-meter property in the hinterland barangay of Magsico to the Municipality of San Fernando for the local government to build and operate a rural health center.
The health center will serve Magsico’s 2,325 residents based on the 2015 census, said Mitzie Almira I. Carin, SEDC deputy division manager for human resources and administration.
Residents in neighboring barangays, like Bugho and Cabatbatan, can take advantage of the unit when it is operational, she added.
SEDC president Dennis B. Tenefrancia and San Fernando Mayor Antonio L. Canoy signed the deed of donation (DOD) on Feb. 3, 2016 at the conference room of the Mayor’s Office.
Dr. Alfredo P. Manugas VI, the municipal health officer, and Magsico Barangay Captain Johnny Arriesgado served as witnesses of the agreement during the signing that SEDC technical adviser Takehito Oga also attended.
The donation is in line with the Social Development Management Program (SDMP) that SEDC implements in San Fernando with its primary client, Taiheiyo Cement Philippines Inc.
It is also attuned to the two companies’ corporate social responsibility, as stated in the DOD, and pursued in gratitude to the support of the municipal government with its en- deavors, noted Carin, also the SDMP manager.
SEDC had cut the 600-squaremeter lot out from a 2.68-hectare land it owns under Tax Declaration 08-007280 and identified as Lot 4263 in the cadastral survey, noted the signed document.
The quarry operator reserved the right to take back the lot once the local government ceases to use it for rural health services and adopts it for purposes other than what is stipulated in the document.
