Leylam wins DBTC Football Fest

LEYLAM FC A took home the Men's Open plum after beating Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) 99 in the 1st DBTC Rector Football Festival over the weekend at the DBTC football grounds.

Leylam FC A was at the top of their game and beat DBTC 99, 1-0, in the finals. Dan Villarico scored the lone goal.

Leylam FC A was unbeaten the whole tournament, in which the team's less than impressive game was a 1-1 draw with NTD in the group stage. Leylam FC A topped Group A with seven points, from two wins and a draw. Leylam FC A edged out Suzuki FC, 2-1, in the quarter finals and then beat Alegria FC, 2-0, in the semi-finals.

Don Bosco teams, which were majority of the participan­ts in the two-day festival, bagged a total of nine trophies. There were a total of 45 participat­ing Don Bosco teams from different divisions. DBTC A Gr. 4 beat DBTC C Gr. 3, 1-0, for the Under-9 crown; DBTC A Gr. 5 bagged the Under-11 trophy; DBTC A 2001 crushed DBTC B 2002, 5-2, for the Boys Under-15 title; DBTC A 1999 won against Canduman, 1-0, for the Boys Under-17 diadem; Don Bosco Alumni FC beat KN Ferraren, 3-1, for the Executive 40 crown; DBTC A Gr. 3 outclassed DBTC F Gr. 2, 4-0, for the Under-8 title; DBTC A 2004 defeated Guardian Striker FC , 2-0, for the Under-12 diadem; DBTC B beat Warshockz FC, 2-0, for the Boys Under-14 trophy; and DBTC A 2001 snagged the Boys Under-16 belt with a 2-1 win over Guardian Strikers. Giuseppe FC (GFC) also bagged three titles in the tournament. GFC A topped the Under-6 division with a 4-0 win over DBTC A; GFC defeated DBTC A, 1-0, for the Under-7 title; and GFC squeaked past Ateneo de Cebu A, 6-5, for the Girls Under-16 crown.

In other results, Ateneo de Cebu claimed the Ladies Open trophy with a 2-1 win over San Roque FC; Warshockz FC edged out GFC for the Boys Under-13 title; and Talisay Razkals won against DBTC B Gr. 3 for the Under-10 title.
