Crimson Resort’s Azure holds Blue Party
Crimson Resort and Spa Mactan's Azure Beach Club celebrated its blue party last Aug. 20 at the Rock Bar. The annual event is a gathering of the beach club's top clientele and elite circle members, a handful of select individuals who are entitled to exclusive benefits and privileges whenever they dine in Azure.
One of the night's highlights was the showcase of wearable art or trashion, a coined term which means trash to fashion. Six bustiers were created by six young aspiring artists who are fine arts students from the University of the Philippines, in collaboration with Youth for a Livable Cebu (YLC), a platform for the youth and communities to find creative solutions for sustainable development. The bustiers were made from various recycled materials inspired by common environmental issues such as coral bleaching in the Great Barrier Reef and electronic waste generated each year.
“Our collaboration with YLC's Francis Sollano and team is our way of showing art and fashion to bring attention to the pressing environmental issues of our times. Crimson has been supportive with environmental protection effort and in itself has various programs to achieve sustain- able resort operation. Our Asean Green Hotel award is proof that the resort is keen on keeping an active participation in the protection of the environment and in supporting local community,” said Crimson general manager Didier Belmonte. “It's a privilege to work with the youth and YLC, a group of entrepreneurs who share the same vision as the company in promoting sustain- able practices.”
A symphony of sounds and sights by one of Cebu's finest fire dancers, and unlimited dishes delighted guests. Some of the crowd favorites were chicken and beer by Korean Chef Kibum Park, pani puri by Chef Arvind Singh, beef carpaccio with truffle ponzu sauce, lamb seekh kebab, beef burrito and samosa.
