Davies, Dormakaba dominate A+EBA

DAVIES and Dormakaba continue to dominate the 2nd Corporate Cup of the Architects+Engineers Basketball Associatio­n (A+EBA) after staying unbeaten and ahead of the pack with wins over the weekend.

Even though the team missed the services of its leading scorer Michael Cinco, Davies still managed to pull off a close 56-54 win over Phoenix at the Cebu Eastern College (CEC) Gym.

Jun Villacorta stepped up to lead Davies with 18 points, six rebounds, two assists and a steal. He also had help from Glenn Alonso, Paolo Alberto and Josephril Partosa. Alonso dropped nine points and grabbed six rebounds.

Alberto logged eight points, four boards and four assists; and Partosa added seven markers.

Paul Besinga led Phoenix with 15 points, while Alexander Vidall chipped in nine points for Phoenix.

Rematch

In a rematch of the 2nd Davies Paints Cup championsh­ips, Dormakaba avenged its finals loss with a 58-44 win over Sea Olympus.

New player Jessie Paradero had a huge game with 16 points and 12 rebounds, while Neil Benedicto also had a doubledoub­le performanc­e with 13 points, 10 boards, two steals and a block. Jonas Panerio was also in double figures with 11 points.

Ayi Armenion led Sea Olympus with 17 points and five rebounds, while Justin Aspacio had 11 points and four rebounds.

First win

Defending Corporate Cup champion Megabond logged its first win after beating Fenestram, 80-69.

Joseph Escobar had a complete game to lead Megbond to victory. He had a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds along with five assists, three steals and a block. John Rabaya had 15 points, while Neil Belga and Malvin Malicdem added 14 each.

Niel Bacus also had a huge game for Fenestram with 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Jury Tabares added 13 points along with nine boards.

Davies and Dormakaba are at the top with 3-0 slates, while Sea Olympus, Phoenix and Megabon d are fighting for the next three spots with identical 1-2 records. Fenestram sits at the bottom with an 0-3 slate.
