DOJ mulls presenting alleged sex tape as ‘evidence’
JUSTICE Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said the Department of Justice (DOJ) will present the alleged sex videos of Sen. Leila de Lima to the court which will handle her case as an “evidence” should the senator deny her suspected relationship with her former driver, Ronnie Dayan.
“If she will not admit (about their relationship) during the trial then we will be forced to play (the video),” Aguirre said in a press conference in DOJ yesterday.
Aguirre said that the videos of de Lima are significant to the case being

built up against her as it can explain why Dayan was directly involved in illegal drug trade in NBP.
“It’s big. (the significance). They will explain (sex videos) why Dayan was powerful, why Dayan was able to extract money from drug lords because an ordinary driver cannot do it,” he said.
Aguirre said concubinage could be filed against de Lima if it’s proven that she is the woman in the videos, as Dayan is married.
But when asked whether these videos are already authenticated by the National Bureau of Investigation, Aguirre said: “Not yet, but when I saw it, I am very, very sure.”
According to Aguirre, he has seen at least three sex videos of the lawmaker.
Aguirre said de Lima’s former secu- rity aid, Joenel Sanchez, is set to testify before the Congress inquiry on drug proliferation the relationship between de Lima and Dayan.
“He (Sanchez) told me that he noticed the closeness of de Lima and Dayan. They went places, like Bicol, Pangasinan, Mindanao, they sleep together in a hotel ,” Aguirre said in a press conference on Monday. Former Bureau of Corrections officer-in-charge Rafael Ragos who appeared in the Congress probe on drug proliferation last week also “confirmed” the relationship of the two.
