Foreigner in critical condition

-

THE Korean national who tried to kill himself in front of a mall in Barangay Luz, Cebu City last Monday morning may have done so because of financial problems.

That is just one of the angles homicide investigators are looking into regarding the suicide attempt.

Text message

His live-in partner said that the Korean was in debt to a friend.

She said she received a text message from him around 5:25 a.m., which said, “GOODBYE MY LOVE, I LOVE YOU.”

He is still in critical condition in the hospital after he shot his left temple using a homemade .38 snubnosed revolver.

According to initial report, the Korean was smoking on a bench outside the mall when he suddenly pulled out his gun and shot himself around 6 a.m.

He hails from Lapu- Lapu City.

Lovers’ quarrel

In another incident, a 32-year-old man was found hanging inside his house in Barangay Basak San Nicolas, Cebu City past midnight yesterday.

Eulicis Pretos was discovered by his live-in partner.

She had been awakened by dogs barking around 12:30 a.m. When she went downstairs, she saw him hanging from a beam with a nylon rope tied around his neck.

She cut the rope using a kitchen knife and brought him to the hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

Prior to the incident, she told homicide investigators they had a fight after she found text messages from his alleged lover on his cellular phone.

Police inspected the scene, and found no signs of foul play.
