Seminar to help family businesses last for several generation­s

LEARN from two family business experts to lead your family business. Attend the one-day seminar Family Business Governance, Building A World-Class Board on Nov. 26, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., at Cebu Parklane Internatio­nal Hotel, Cebu City with the country’s family business experts Prof. Enrique Soriano III and Prof. Federico Gonzalez.

The seminar fee is P7,700 per person, which covers seminar kit, snacks, lunch and taxes.

Prof. Eric Soriano will talk about family relationsh­ip and problems, which will help a family business create its own family constituti­on and shareholde­rs’ agreement.

Prof. Dickie Gonzalez, meanwhile, will talk about the principles and practices of cor- porate governance within the unique environmen­t of the family enterprise.

The two speakers will also give insights on how to better manage their business in preparatio­n for the next generation leaders to ensure the family business legacy.

An educator and book author, Prof. Soriano has been a family business coach and consultant to many businesses in the Philippine­s and other ASEAN countries. He obtained his BA from University of the Philippine­s and MBA from De La Salle University and completed an executive education at National University of Singapore Business School. He is currently a senior advisor and consultant on family business at Wong & Bernstein Group and a professor of marketing at the Ateneo Graduate School of Business.

Prof. Gonzalez has been an educator at De La Salle University with a passion for technology entreprene­urship and innovation. He has been engaged in corporate advisory and management for over 40 years.

He finished his BS Mechanical Engineerin­g (magna cum laude) at the De La Salle College and MS Industrial Management at the Massachuse­tts Institute of Technology, where he gained his systems, engineerin­g and technology foundation­s.
