‘One Time Big Time’ seizes P2.3M in shabu

-

IN THE first simultaneous “One Time Big Time” operation by all the police stations in Cebu City, shabu worth P2.3 million was confiscated on Tuesday night.

But the illegal drugs that were confiscated by almost 200 operatives who were mobilized were not enough for Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Joel Doria.

“Based dito sa outcome, hindi ito yung ini- expect ko na result. Mas malaki pa sana. Kaya lang parang natunugan yung operation natin (Based in the outcome this is not the result that I expected. I thought it was bigger. But it seemed like our operation was leaked),” Doria said.

As part of the directive against illegal gambling, 106 video carrera and moli-moli machines were also seized.

“After this, I will direct the police chief to coordinate with their barangay officials to issue a certification that there are no gambling machines left in their area of responsibility,” Doria said.

The city director said he aimed that Cebu City will be free of all illegal gambling machines before Christmas.

The CCPO also coordinated with Councilor Dave Tumulak, deputy mayor for police matters, on the storage and disposal of the gambling machines after these were confiscated.

In the operation of the Carbon Police Station, the Special Action Force (SAF) helped the authorities in beefing up the security of the area.

“We requested their support as a security complement to our operatives in the Carbon police,” Doria said.

Ivan Estrella, 19, was arrested in Barangay Ermita and his arrest yielded to P474, 478 worth of shabu.

Four medium sachets and 10 small sachets of shabu were confiscated from him.

The City Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group (Caidsotg) also caught a live-in partners in Barangay Duljo-Fatima during the simultaneous operation that started 8 p.m.

Pokemon

Jennifer Arcadio, 27, and Jelson Tañesa, 30, yielded the biggest haul with shabu worth P1,062,944.

The One Time Big Time or Oplan Pokemon will also serve as an ultimatum to the station commanders on the “one strike policy.”

“I will now direct the chief investigation and intelligence to conduct an operation, at pag may nakuhang machine at may nahuli pa hindi tama yung report. We will recommend the relief of the station commander (When there are still machines, the report is wrong),” he said.

The SAF, the Special Weapons and Tactics (Swat), the Highway Patrol Group (HPG), the Public Safety Company, the Caidsotg, the City Intelligence Branch (CIB) and the Intelligence and Detective Management Branch (IDMB) participated in the operation.

Lapu-Lapu

The Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch (CIB) seized about P2 million worth of illegal drugs from the two top drug personalities in the city yesterday dawn.

CIB identified Mauricio “JR” Jumaoas, 45, and Rogelio “Patok” Villamor, 47, who were considered as top 1 and top 2 of the drug priority watch list respectively, as part of a drug group.

The CIB, led by Police Senior Insp. Joey Bicoy, initially went to Sitio Mahayahay in Barangay Marigondon where they caught Jumao-as at 12:05 a.m.

The police decoy used boodle money worth P15,000 and bought a medium pack of illegal drugs from Jumao-as.

Jumao-as was considered as a high value target 3.

Bicoy told Sun.Star Cebu that a high-value target 3 is considered a drug group leader or a key member of a drug syndicate.

Bicoy identified Jumao-as as a key member.

“Si Jumao-as naay warrant of arrest. Dugay na kaayo na gipangita, mao naglisod gyud ta, mao ang nakita namong paagi buy-bust (Jumao-as had a pending arrest warrant. Authorities had been looking for him. So we thought to conduct a buy-bust operation to catch him),” Bicoy said.

He said the police have been visiting the house of the suspect, but they were not able to catch him.

Jumao-as’s wife even surrendered to the police for her involvement in illegal drugs, according to Bicoy.

Aside from the medium pack as subject of sale, police recovered another three medium packs of alleged shabu, the boodle money and another P1,400 cash.

The illegal drugs confiscated was worth P236,000.

About 35 minutes past, Bicoy and his team caught Jumao-as’s buddy, Villamor, in Sitio Marbeach in the same barangay.

Villamor is also considered a high-value target 3 and also a key member of a drug group.

Bicoy said they received an information that the two suspects got their supply of illegal drugs from Cebu mainland.

Five large packs of shabu, including the subject of sale, worth P1.77 million were seized from Villamor.

Police also got the boodle money worth P50,000 and P5,000 cash from him.

Barangay Agus

Also yesterday, Lapu-Lapu Police Station 4 led by Senior Insp. Alcon Escosura caught June Cosep, 25, and his accomplice, Juliann Collantes, 31, past 4 a.m. in Sitio Ibabao, Barangay Agus.

Thirteen sachets of shabu, the buybust money and P500 cash were recovered from Cosep.

Escosura’s team also caught Daniel Pinote, 40, a drug surrenderer in Sitio Hawaiian, Marigondon in a police operation at 12:45 a.m. last Tuesday.

He was listed in the watch list of the said police station.

Eleven sachets of shabu, the P300 buybust money and another P400 cash were recovered from Pinote.

The suspect’s colleagues, Regine Dela Sierra, 37, of M. G. Cuenco Ave., Cebu City; Adrian Heyrosa, 33, and Reymos Habal, 26, who are both drugs surrenders from Barangay Mantuyong, Mandaue City were also arrested.

A sachet of shabu was seized from each of them.

All the suspects caught in the separate operations were detained at the LapuLapu Police Office holding cell.
