The Perks of Being a Beauty Addict
Are you a beauty addict? So goes the question and hashtag at Rustan’s Department Store for beauty-obsessed shoppers loyal to its fragrance and cosmetics counters. As someone who’s been curious (to put it mildly) about beauty and makeup for about 15 years now, my answer to that is pretty obvious! If you aren’t a Beauty Addict already, I highly recommend you sign up on your next visit to Rustan’s! Here’s why:
• Registration is hassle-free. Anyone can
become a member by making a minimum purchase of P2,500 at the cosmetics, perfumery and toiletries section in Rustan’s. Christmas is just a month away, so if you’re planning on shopping for your family and friends (or yourself) at Rustan’s anyway, why not go ahead and apply for membership at no extra charge? You get the permanent card right away and online access to your account, too, without having to wait for weeks.
• Earn points for shopping. Believe it or
not, you won’t find me at Rustan’s every payday! But when I do pick things up from the beauty counters, it’s almost always in bulk. Might as well be rewarded for this lack of self-control, right? Earn a point for every P200 spent, then redeem premium items using your points.
• Be the first to know. Beauty Addicts get
newsletters from time to time of any special offers that may be in store, or of new products that are coming in. Early sign-ups for highly coveted products are sometimes offered.
• Exclusive privileges. Being a Beauty Addict
offers special incentives open only to members. These can include gifts for a minimum purchase, or special rates outside Rustan’s that only Beauty Addicts can avail of. Just earlier this month, Cathay Pacific Airways offered special rates for tickets to Japan, the U.S. and Europe. I was extremely tempted, but held back since I don’t have concrete plans yet for these destinations. The Beauty Addict program has had and will continue to have exciting raffles, like allexpenses-paid trips including stays in multistarred hotels and airfare.
• Beauty Addict party! The first one outside
of Manila just took place in Cebu last week, and what a flurry of activity it was! Everyone in attendance really enjoyed playing counter games and winning prizes that made beauty addicts’ hearts race. I myself won nail polish from OPI and a pouch from L’Occitane, but the early birds got blush from NARS and primer from Laura Mercier—all for free! Other private sales are also held, but the Beauty Addict party is the biggest one every year. I’m so glad Rustan’s finally brought it to Cebu. In short, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain by becoming a Beauty Addict.
