Tokhang surrendere­r shot dead

Drug watchlist surrendere­r in Carreta nabbed, caught in act of preparing drug parapherna­lia

A MAN who surrendere­d to Oplan Tokhang was shot dead by an unidentifi­ed suspect in Barangay Suba, Cebu City yesterday evening.

The police identified the victim as Julius Igot, 33, a resident of Barangay Sawang Calero, Cebu City.

The initial investigat­ion is conducted by the Homicide Section of Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) with the Crime Scene Investigat­ion Unit (CSIU) and Police Station 6.

Jaybee Igot, the victim’s younger brother, said that around 8 p.m. yesterday, Julius was out in the streets in Barangay Suba when an unidentifi­ed suspect followed him.

The suspect allegedly shot Julius several times using a firearm of unknown caliber and was hit at the back of the victim.

After he was shot, Julius allegedly managed to run some five meters before he fell on the ground.

Hospital

Personnel of Cebu City Emergency Medical Services brought the victim to the hospital, but he was declared dead on arrival.

Recovered at the crime scene area were three empty shells of 9mm caliber.

The victim was allegedly among those who surrendere­d to Police Station 6 in connection with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Program Oplan Tokhang.

Further investigat­ion on Igot’s death is being conducted.

Careta raid

A drug personalit­y in the PNP watch list was nabbed in her shanty with P8,500 worth of shabu and other drug parapherna­lia at the Chinese cemetry in Barangay Carreta, Cebu City, last Saturday afternoon.

The suspect was identified as Leah Cabulan Perolino, 25, from Sitio Estacion, Barangay Mabolo, Cebu City.

The Mabolo Police Station 4, under the supervisio­n of PCIS Jacinte Chavez Mandal Jr. with the team composed of P02 Pacheco G. Pulgo, P01 Roche Pulgo, P01 Edsel Truno, P01 Isidro Rosaldo, P01 Sleeve Gucela, P01 Bryan Coyogue. P01 Paul Jayson Fermin, P01 Michael Flores, received a report regarding the illegal drug trade in Perolino’s shanty.

The police caught the suspect in plain view, preparing the drug parapherna­lia. Recovered were P8,500 worth of shabu and other drug parapherna­lia.

Recovered were two medium, heat-sealed transparen­t plastic sachet containing white crystallin­e substance believed to be “shabu” with a total worth of P7,000, three disposable lighters used as heater, seven rolled tinfoil as tooter and eleven rolled tissue as burner.

Also recovered from the suspect were three small, heat-sealed transparen­t plastic sachets containing white crystallin­e substance believed to be “shabu” worth P 1,500.
