November is Zonta Month

The month of November had been declared “Zonta Month” by the Province and City of Cebu.

For decades, the Cebu Zonta Club I had advocated and implemente­d socio-civic and community projects, focusing on the plight of women and children; exploring and expanding projects in education, entreprene­urship, environmen­t (the 3 Es of Zonta I).

We commend the Zontians for sustaining local, national and internatio­nal participat­ion and linkages as their leadership­s took turns every biennium.

More of Zonta I will unfold as it moves forward to its founding anniversar­y in 2017. MOA SIGNING. (Seated from left) Zonta 1 education committee chairperso­n Mathea Baguia and president Isabel Garcia signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Benedicto College, represente­d by its president Lilian Benedicto-Huan, who was accompanie­d by a school director representa­tive last Oct. 20 at the Country Club Cebu. The MOA states that the school would form a club composing of female senior high school students who excel in academics and with good leadership potentials. The club shall be named Z Club. During the event, the Z Club Members were presented to the members of Zonta Club of Cebu I. They pledged to commit themselves to give their wholeheart­ed support and cooperatio­n to the Zonta Club Cebu I to advance the status of women and girls through service and advocacy.
