Bizman loses P100T in heist
A BUSINESSMAN and his wife lost more than P100,000 of their daily earnings after they were robbed by four men in Barangay Linao, Talisay City last Wednesday.
Nicasio Abella, 64, and his wife Meriam, both from Sitio Bliss in Barangay Labangon, Cebu City, immediately sought the help of local police after they were allegedly robbed by four armed men at around 7 p.m. yesterday.
SPO2 Vincent Taladua of the Talisay City Police Station said Abella, who owns a softdrinks retailer, was with his wife to collect their earnings at their store in Barangay Linao when they decided to go home.
While waiting for a taxi outside their store, the four suspects on board two motorcycles suddenly stopped them.
One of the four men, one of the back-riders, reportedly pulled out a pistol and declared a hold-up.
Out of fear, Abella and his wife immediately gave away P101,000, which they kept in two bags.
After getting the money, the suspects immediately fled.
Abella told police he was able to identify the plate number of the suspects’ motorcycle.
Taladua said that he and his team immediately conducted a hot-pursuit operation, but failed to locate the suspects.
Taladua told Sun.Star Cebu that they are looking at various angles, including that the suspects personally knew the couple.
“Murag gibantayan gyud ni sila. Routine na man gud nila nga muadto sa ilang tindahan para mukobra. Wala sad silay personal security mao nang target kaayo sila sa mga tulisan (They must’ve been watched. It was routine for them to go to the store to collect. They also don’t have personal security, that was why they became easy target for robbers),” Taladua added.
