A high-value target drug personality, who once surrendered together with family members, was killed, while five others were arrested in separate buy-busts by the LapuLapu City Police Station (PS) 3 last Thursday.

Clifford Degolacion, 31, was shot when he allegedly fired at police inside his house in Purok Caimito, Barangay Gun-ob at 6:20 p.m.

Chief Insp. Jaime Tolentino, chief of PS 3, said Degolacion was the station's top drug pusher on their watch list, but was then listed as a high-value target of the Lapu-Lapu City Intelligence Branch.

Degolacion sold a medium pack of white crystals believed to be shabu worth P2,000 to a police decoy.

When the decoy introduced himself as a police officer, the suspect pushed him and ran to the back of his house.

Degolacion allegedly returned with a gun and fired. Another police officer shot the suspect. None of the policemen were hurt.

Recovered from Degolacion were two .38 revolvers and eight medium packs of shabu.

Also arrested were Degolacion's wife Joelly Jane, 27; his mother Alixis, 50; and carpenter, Argie “Tata” Lacion, 32, who reportedly served as his assistant.

A total of 36 sachets of shabu worth P354,000 were seized from them.

Tolentino said Degolacion together with the three other suspects surrendered last Sept. 13, but they continued with their illegal drug trade.

Earlier at 3:55 p.m., Tolentino's team arrested Myles Henson Algar, 23, and his cohort Kim Janine Lubrin in Zone Lato, Barangay Calawisan.

Police found a sachet of shabu, five medium packs of the same substance and P600 cash from Algar.

Three sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia were seized from Lubrin. The shabu was worth P40,000. All five suspects were detained at the Lapu-Lapu Police Station 3 holding cell.
