Promote local
SUPPORT. I should commend Dr. Paulus Mariae Cañete, president of the Mandaue City College, for his full support to the Cebu Entertainers’ Association Corp. (Ceacorp) Inc. led by veteran songbird Babyluz Condeno. Cañete spoke during Ceacorp’s oath taking ceremony last Friday evening. He stressed he is committed to helping the club grow so that it can sustain its mission of promoting the local entertainment industry.
DONATION. To show his sincerity, Cañete donated P10,000 to Ceacorp after his speech. He also challenged the club officers and members to concentrate on promoting Cebuano compositions that, according to him, are now seldom heard over local radio stations. I fully agree with his observation.
TELEDRAMAS. Hildi Montesclaros a.k.a. Ate Ging, the lady behind Happy Hearts Marketing, is producing two Lenten teledramas to be aired over Cebu Catholic Television Network channel 47 on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday, April 13 and 14, respectively. Veteran writer Restie Jumao-as Nur is now preparing the two scripts. The talents of dyHP’s
Gabayan sa Kaayohan radio drama series will be the stars themselves. Shooting will be on Sunday, March 12. Yours truly will direct the two Lenten teledramas.
AMAZING. To say that the 77th birthday concert of Dr. Ingrid Sala-Santamaria was highly successful is an understatement. Her grand entrance alone as she made her way to the stage was amazing as she was offered 77 stems of red roses by friends and fans. My salute to Hazel Sanchez and Hannah Go as well as their very supportive parents Greg and Louella Magdadaro for producing such a wonderful concert. Kudos! (For comments, text 0932-277-8771).
