1 KOREAN LOSES P207T CASH TO 2 WORKERS, GUARD

Korean national Jun Young Kin lost P207,000 cash inside his house in Alang-Alang, Mandaue City. A security guard and two workers were later arrested after they were found to have perpetrate­d the burglary at 11:30 p.m. last Monday. Kin, manager of Gangnam Souvenirs Inc., in HPS Building on Plaridel St. reported the incident to the police. Security guard Romeo Dumiande, 33, who is assigned at the establishm­ent, and his two other cohorts, namely, Joel Rufo and June Mark Sareno, who were both Gangnam workers, were arrested in a follow-up operation. / FMG

2 FARMER, 34, GUNNED DOWN IN PINAMUNGAJ­AN

An unknown gunman shot a 34-year-old farmer to death in Camugao, Pinamungaj­an, Cebu last Monday. Victim Ruel Alvoer Neñel died from gunshot wounds in different parts of his body. He was rushed to the town’s public hospital, where he did not make it alive. Neñel was resting when the perpetrato­r, who wore a fullfaced helmet, arrived and shot him several times. Neñel ran but the gunman finished him off with more shots. Police learned the victim had an affair with a married woman. Six empty shells and a slug from a .45 pistol were found at the scene. / KAL

3 MAN DIED IN AN ATTACK IN CONSOLACIO­N

A 34-year-old man was killed by an unknown assassin in Sitio Mohon, Barangay Panoypoy, Consolacio­n, Cebu last Monday morning. Celso Magale Tubod succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head, chest and buttocks. He was rushed to a public hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival. Investigat­ion showed that the victim was allegedly having an affair with his brother’s wife. Before Tubod was shot, the woman’s son was reportedly heard by his relatives saying, “Puslan man nga wa siya mapriso, humanon na lang.” Police are looking for the son. / KAL

4 DRUG SUSPECT YIELDS P178T SHABU IN BUY-BUST

A suspected drug pusher was caught in a buy-bust by the newly-formed Cebu City Drug Enforcemen­t Unit in Sitio Cogon, Barangay Labangon last Monday night. Mark Edward Lascona, 34, was arrested with shabu valued at P178,416. In coordinati­on with the Philippine Drug Enforcemen­t Agency 7, police allegedly confiscate­d three sachets and three medium packs of suspected shabu from Lascona’s possesion. He will face charges for violation of Sections 5 (selling) and 11 (possession) of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehens­ive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. / JOB

5 'PUSHER' KILLED, BUT COMPANION SURVIVED ATTACK

Four men shot a suspected drug pusher to death in Sitio Kaino, Sta. Cruz, Liloan, Cebu last Monday. His companion survived. Victims were believed to be drug surrendere­rs. Benjie Bohol Capangpang­an, 32, died from gunshot wounds in the head and other parts in the body. His companion Alexis Espera Vacunador, 32, was also hit in the body. He survived the attack. The two were asleep when they were shot at. The culprits arrived outside Capangpang­an’s house, riding separately on two motorcycle­s. They barged into the house and fired at the victims. / KAL
