Cabahug stars NBTC

-

Cebuano hotshot Raul Jancork Cabahug will make his second appearance at the National Basketball Training Camp (NBTC) High School All-Star Games on March 16 at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The team captain of the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers is among the over 70 high school players who aspired to be part of the annual showcase of future basketball superstars in the country.

He performed well during the tryouts last Feb. 25 and 26 at the San Beda College Gym in Mendiola, where he and fellow Cebuano aspirants Andrew Velasco, Jeremy Nacua and Travis Mantua from the powerhouse Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles took part.

Aside from the 17-year-old Cabahug, Velasco, the Most Valuable Player of the NBTC Cebu City Division Leg, made it to the March 16 spectacle and they will both be playing for the South Team.

“This will be a momentous event and I hope this would also inspire my fellow players (from UV) to do their best to play alongside with the country’s top high school players,” Cabahug told SunStar Cebu.

Cabahug and Velasco will be playing with Cebuano; Chiang Kai Shek College Dragon John Galinato, who is also playing for his second NBTC-ASG; SJ Belangel of Ateneo; Romuel Junsay of Mapua; Maui Cruz of EAC; Lars Sunga of Arellano; Miguel Ocson also of Chiang Kai Shek; Erlan Umpad of Lyceum; Sherwin Concepcion of Mapua; Karl Peñano and Rhayyan Amsali of National University; and Samuel Abehijleh of San Beda. The South Team will be coached by Josh Reyes.
