Rival clubs Don Bosco Technology Center (DBTC) and Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu (SHS-AdC) shared the spoils of war yesterday, taking home a title each in the 17th Aboitiz Football Cup. DBTC bagged the Boys Under-15 crown, while SHS-AdC took home the Boys Under-13 title at the DBTC football grounds. The Greywolves overcame an early setback to beat the Magis Eagles, 3-1, in the Boys Under-15 finals.

Paref Springdale put up a respectable run to stay in contention in the Boys 12 and Boys 10-Under divisions of the Singapore Cup.

Springdale’s 12-Under team racked up two wins and one loss, while the 10-Under team is still undefeated in two games with a win and a loss.

In the 12-Under division, an own goal spoiled the valiant effort of keeper Eugene Molleno, who had three solid saves against the Spanish Soccer Club Asia. A scramble off a corner saw the ball get redirected by a Springdale player to their own net.

In their second game against the Singapore Dream Team, Bhyl Gimenez, a guest player from Lahug, scored on a breakaway in the fourth minute, and added another 30 seconds later for the second before completing the win with an assist to Javi Sian.

Aside from Gimenez and Sian, the other members of the team are Eugene Molleno, Lucas Sarmiento, Archles Bongo, Aaryan Nayak, Jade Liong, Caleb GIlos, Cyryl Catalan and guest player Daniel Betinol.

Meanwhile, the prolific Ethan Roxas brought his golden boot to Singapore, helping the 10-Under team remain undefeated.

In their first game against Active Singapore, Roxas put the Cebuanos on top with a breakaway in the fourth and keeper Jed Asis preserved the lead with two saves.

Rozas added another in the 12th and completed his hat trick a minute into the second half before Sengo Kobayashi made it 4-0.

Against Spanish Soccer Club Asia, Roxas got the opening goal in the sixth before SSC equalized less than a minute later. In the ninth minute, Roxas spotted the keeper was off his mark, sending a long shot that hit the goal for the go-ahead goal.

However, an error in the 11th minute allowed their foes to salvage a point, 2-2.

The other members of the U10 team are Andres Sarmiento, Jadan Sison, Seth Bacolod, Mateusz Chavez, Jacob Go, Andrew Torres, Calib Gilos and Jed Asis. /
