Reliving a tale as old as time

-

One of the most anticipated films of the year is none other than Disney’s live action version of Beauty and the Beast. Disney has done its share of turning its famous animated features into live action, starting with Maleficent, Cinderella and the Jungle Book.

Undoubtedly one of Disney’s most popular princesses, it’s no wonder so many of you couldn’t wait to get a glimpse of Belle in the flesh.

What’s in store for fans of the original animated classic?

You’ll head down memory lane with all your favorite songs. If you loved the songs from the original, then you’ll find yourself singing along to the well-loved tunes Be Our Guest, Something There, Belle (Little Town), Gaston, and of course, Beauty and the Beast. This film also introduces a few new tunes so you can look forward to learning new ones.

The costumes will remind you of the original, but they are updated. Belle’s lovely yellow gown and the Beast’s formal dance ensemble will definitely take you back to your early memories of the original film. Gaston is more covered up, but it doesn’t keep him from being the same dashing character. Lumiere, Cogsworth, Mrs. Potts and Chip have a new look but nothing that makes them unrecognizable.

If you’re familiar with the tale, then you won’t have to worry about spoilers because the makers of the film stayed true to the story. You’ll feel good, sad and scared and just as satisfied at the end.

And if you’re one of the very few who has not seen the original (shock!), then you’ll love it even more, as you won’t be busy comparing it with what you’ve seen before.

Beauty and the Beast is a must-see for Disney fans, young and old.
