Jacel Nacional, 8, remains missing after her house in Barangay Pusok was destroyed by fire last Sunday dawn; bones found were not of a human being, but of an animal, says Scene of the Crime Operatiions (SOCO) personnel Lapu-Lapu City Government to give P10,000 cash aid to owners of structures, says Mayor Paz Radaza
The Lapu-Lapu City Government will form a task force to find the girl who remains missing after her family’s house along with other structures was destroyed by fire in Barangay Pusok, LapuLapu City last Sunday.
Mayor Paz Radaza said the task force will be headed by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (CDRRM) Office in coordination with the barangay officials, the Lapu-Lapu City Police Office and other concerned agencies.
Jacel Nacional has been missing since Sunday after her mother, Francisca and her siblings jumped out of the window of their burning house.
Francisca’s brother found some bones from the site where their house used to stand. These were submitted to the police for an examination.
However, CDRRM Officer Andy Berame said a Scene of the Crime Operatiions (Soco) personnel yesterday said that the bones were not of a human being, but of an animal.
“According to Soco, there are specific human bones that cannot easily be charred, like the skull,” he said. The City Fire District personnel did not find any human remains in Sitio Matumbo.
Radaza said the City Government will give P10,000 cash aid to the structure owners.
Earlier, fire victims received in-kind help from the City Social Welfare and Services. At least 1,400 individuals and 337 families are staying in the Pusok National High School. /
