Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Eric Noble ordered the transfer of SPO2 Jeffrey Diola from the Talisay City Police Station to the provincial headquarters pending investigation. Jeffrey is the brother of slain drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz’s trusted underling, Dennis Diola. Dennis was arrested with Manilyn Arquillano, his live-in partner, in a buy-bust in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City last June 3. Dennis and Arquillano are third and sixth, respectively, on the list of high-value targets of the Police Regional Office 7. Jeffrey, for his part, said he had told his brother to stop his involvement in the illegal drugs trade.

A senior police officer who is a brother of slain drug lord Jeffrey “Jaguar” Diaz’s trusted underling was relieved from his post in Talisay City Police Station.

Cebu Provincial Police Office Director Eric Noble ordered yesterday the transfer of SPO2 Jeffrey Diola to the provincial headquarters pending investigation.

“Ngayon panahon nang war on drugs. Assumption natin diyan kung pulis ka, ang kapatid mo ay ganyan may problema ka rin (This is a war on drugs. Our assump- tion is that if your brother is into drugs, you have the same problem),” he told reporters.

Noble challenged Diola to clean his name.

Diola’s brother Dennis, 48, was caught with his live-in partner Manilyn Arquillano, 22, in a buy-bust in Barangay Tisa, Cebu City on the night of June 3.

For his part, the police officer said he had told his brother to stop his involvement in illegal drug trade before the arrest happened.

Seized from Dennis and Ar- quillano were P27,000 worth of shabu and a .38 revolver. Dennis and his partner are ranked third and sixth in the list of high-value targets of Police Regional Office 7.

The suspects will face complaints for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, and illegal possession of firearm.

This, as two suspected drug pushers linked to Diaz’s righthand man were arrested in Barangay Lorega San Miguel and Barangay Tisa.

Shabu worth P1.5 million was confiscated from the suspects identified as Nieva “Embing” Abella Pocdol, 50, and Rex “Bayi” Cerilles Labadan, 38.

“She’s a high-value target level 2,” Chief Insp. Cristopher Navida, City Intelligence Branch head, said.

Pocdol was connected to Archie “Bayot” Abellana who was arrested for illegal drugs and detained at the Cebu City Jail in Barangay Kalunasan, Cebu City.

She was caught at 11:40 p.m. last Sunday in Lorega-San Miguel with 400 grams of shabu worth P1.4 million.

In Tisa, Labadan sourced his drugs from a personality at the Cebu City Jail, whose identity he has yet to divulge, and Joselito “Otik” Delfin Arellano, Diaz’s right-hand man.

Arellano was placed under four weeks of surveillance and was arrested on Dec. 14 last year by virtue of a warrant of arrest for robbery with violation or intimidation against persons.

This is a war on drugs. Our assumption is that if your brother is into drugs, you have the same problem. CPPO CHIEF ERIC NOBLE
